Tribute to Gordon B. Hinkley from Glenn Beck

My 3 girls and I were reading our scriptures on Sunday night and were reading in Alma chapter 24 about the Anit Nephi Lehi people who had put up their weapons of war and thousands were killed. And then in verse 22 its says:
22 And thus without meeting any resistance, they did slay a athousand and five of them; and we know that they are blessed, for they have gone to dwell with their God.

After reading this powerful scripture, my girls said, mom, "When Gordon B. Hinkley dies he will dwell with God, right?" I told them that they were right. After talking about our prophet the girls told me that he would probably die of old age soon. Then after I put them to bed, a friend of mine told me the news. It is amazing how children teach us so... much. It was a tender moment in our house.

Snowy Dress- Up days with friends

Some pictures of the kids dressing up and just having fun "INDOORS" since the weather has been so cold and snowy! We are definetly ready for some beautiful days (like spring and summer)!! This is the time of year I miss the warmth of the South. Although, the snow is great as long as the weather isn't too... cold. Lauren is so.. sweet to Blake and always does his hair. She thinks that she is his personal hairdresser! I don't think he minds a bit. Natalie as you can see is sure to make sure that Hannah and all of her friends are having a great time. We have so much fun with these cute girls and boy!!

Patsy Celebrity Look Alikes

http://www.myheritage.com/collage

This is a fun website!!! What's funny is when I was at the Houston airport I had about 5 workers come up to me asking me if I was Katie Couric!! I don't really think so, but apparently there must be some resemblance.

Brad Paisley Concert with Chuck Wicks

Joseph and I went to the Brad Paisely concert last night!! It was great, but I really enjoyed Chuck Wicks. He opened for him along with Rodney Atkins. Chuck to me kindof looks like a younger version of Donny Osmond. He puts out his first album on January 22. Apparently, this was the first concert he's done. He also has a cool website http://www.chuckwicks.com. We enjoyed the evening!!

Hairspray

Lauren, Natalie and I went to see the musical "Hairspray" this weekend, Jan. 5th and had a great time. We had a pre-show party at our friends house with lots of friends. The girls picked out their favorite song from the show "Good Morning Baltimore". Natalie also likes "I can hear the Bells". The girls can't quit talking about it or wanting to watch it.

Christmas

Christmas eve, we all went to see the movie "Enchanted" with some friends. We thought the movie was so cute and really enjoyed it. We came home and the girls made christmas cookies for santa. Blake was too tired to stay up and too excited for santa to come. All the kids must of been good enough this year, because none of them ended up with coal in their stockings---I'm not sure why??? No, they are really good kids--most of the time. We all woke up Christmas morning and had a great day. We had dinner with friends and enjoyed one anothers company.
Two days after Christmas, we enjoyed a visit from Joseph's parents and two brothers. We had fun tubing and skiing. I didn't enjoy skiing as much because the wind chill was -20 degrees. Too cold for me--I like skiing when its warmer. Anyway, we had a great time with them and the kids really enjoyed their grandparents and uncles. We are just getting back in the swing of things with school and regular routines. Sometimes a nice welcome to reality is a good thing.

I'm excited to start this blog to keep friends and family updated on our family here in Colorado Springs.
